Sophie's Storytellers Academy

This course will walk you through the exact steps you need to write a therapeutic story. Sophie will personally coach you through the process, so that by the end of the programme, you will have written a therapeutic story you can be proud of, and have the skills and confidence to keep writing.  Not only that, but you will have access to an exclusive, private community group of graduate storytellers so you can continue to learn and grow together. 

Course participants will:  

1.  Explore the power of metaphor and storytelling   

2. Build confidence in their own creative abilities  

3. Learn a framework to create therapeutic stories  

4. Explore creative methods that can further enhance the storytelling experience  

5. Complete their own therapeutic story

• All 5 classes are delivered online via Zoom, and recordings will be available
• The course is broken down into 5 steps with a session and a task for each step
• Live sessions delivered each week (you can watch these at any time to suit you!)
• Live session dates and times: 14th, 17th, 24th, 31st July and 11th August at 10am (BST)
• Access to an exclusive Graduates Community for ongoing support on completion
• 10 hour CPD certificate

FAQ 

Do I have to attend the sessions live? No! The videos will all recorded live, but you are free to watch them whenever is convenient for you. The course is designed to fit around busy schedules, but unlike a pre-recorded course you will get plenty of 1:1 advice and support when you need it. 

I've not written stories before, is this course right for me? Yes! This course is for anyone who wants to learn how to write therapeutic, healing stories, to help them process difficult topics. Even if you've never written a story before, I will walk you through the process from start to finish. I promise you will surprise yourself with just what you can achieve!

 

I'm not a professional, can I take part? Of course! So far participants have included therapists, family support workers, teachers, parents and more. Anyone who wants to learn is welcome.  

I'm busy right now! How much time will the course take up? The 5 video steps are between 30 minutes to 1 hour (depending on content and questions). You will then have tasks to complete after watching each video. The time this takes will vary for each individual but on average you can expect to spend around 2 hours on each step (both video and task) so around 10 hours in total.   

What if I don't manage to finish the steps by the end of the course? That's not a problem! You can join the Graduates Group where you will have continued access to the videos and workbook as well as ongoing support from myself and the community. You can take your time!
